Bobcats - Bulldogs Classic

Over the past few years the Andalusia and Opp have tangled on the volleyball court with the Lady Bulldogs usually getting the better of their county rival.  Last Tuesday Opp Lady Bobcats looked to turn the table in the series as they hosted Andalusia.  The Andalusia Varsity girls got off to a fast start jumping out to a 13-5 lead. Later in the contest Opp found themselves down 22-12, but outscored Andalusia 13-1 the rest of the game to pull off a 25-23 comeback win. Opp used that momentum to jump out to a ten point lead of their own in game two 16-6. Andalusia had no answer for the Lady Bobcat attack and Opp won game two easily 25-12. Game three was tight in the early going with Andalusia taking a one point lead 10-9. Opp slingshot past the Lady Dogs on the next rally for six points and a 15-10 lead. Another big five point rally at the end sealed the win for Opp as they won game three 25-16 to sweep the rival Lady Bulldogs.

The JV Lady Bobcats came out on fire scoring the first six points of the game. Opp piled up six multipoint rallies in a row to cruise to the win in game one 25-8. The opposite occured in game two when it was Andalusia who got off to the fast start. Andalusia led by ten at one point 15-5, but Opp rallied late. Facing a must win down 24-19, Opp battled back to cut the Andalusia lead to just one at 24-23. The Lady Cats came up short in game two 25-23 setting up a sudden death game three. Andalusia started off game three scoring the first four points. Opp roared past Andalusia with a five point rally for an 8-5 lead. The Lady Bobcats never looked back and took game three 15-12 and the series two games to one for their first win of the season.

In the JR High contest Andalusia led for most of the game. Midway through game one the Lady Bulldogs led 16-11 before Opp pulled to within one point at 16-15. With the score 24-22 it appeared Andalusia was going to take the first game in regulation until Opp rallied back to go ahead 25-24. Andalusia scored the next three points for the win 27-25. Game two was just as close with Andalusia leading most of the early portions. The Lady Bulldogs were up 19-14 when Opp went on an eight point rally to take the lead 22-19. Andalusia then when on a six point rally of their own to take game two 25-22.
