RED LEVEL TIGERS WEEKLY PREVIEW

Playoffs - Round 1

Red Level  @ Southern Choctaw

Southern Choctaw was a short dynasty in the late 90's winning three titles in five season's (1998, 1999, 2002) - going 59-8 through the span.   The team lost the title in 2005 to Clay County going 14-1, but the Indians haven't been to the post season since 2006 after the departure of former head coach Larry Boykin.  Jeremy Noland enters his second season as the head coach going 4-6 last season and 8-2 this year.

The Red Level Tigers have faced New Brockton 7 times with three wins.  Their first meeting was in the 2001 first round with Red Level winning 21-15.  The Tigers won the next meeting in 2004 and again in 2006, but the last three meetings have all been won by Southern Choctaw during region play.

This season the teams are in different regions when Red Level moved to 2A region 2.  Southern Choctaw lost two of their first three games before going on a 7-0 run and finishing the regular season 8-2.    For Red Level, the Tigers are coached by Tony Ingram who finished 2-8 his first season, before guiding Red Level back into the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
