Opp vs. TR Miller

The Opp Bobcats traveled over to Brewton last Friday night to do battle with the TR Miller Tigers in the region opener for both teams. This was the first meeting between the schools since 2001.  The Tigers jumped out to a 7-0 lead right off the bat with a 33 yard touchdown score on the fourth play of the game. After a Bobcat punt Miller found the end zone again at the end of the first quarter on a 53 yard touchdown play. After the first quarter the Bobcats found themselves in a 14-0 hole.

Opp gambled on their first drive of the second quarter converting on a fourth and 16 from the 25 yard line. After moving the ball to the one yard line the Bobcats punched it in the end zone for a touchdown. The PAT was good and Opp cut the Miller lead in half at 14-7. The game went into the halftime with Miller leading 14-7.

The Tigers scored the only touchdown in the second going in from four yards out in the final minute of the third quarter for go ahead 21-7. The Bobcats were unable to score in the fourth quarter and fell to the Tigers 21-7. Opp returns home Friday night to take on the Bayside Academy Admirals for the first time ever.
