Week 1
The Opp Bobcats lost another
heartbreaker in week 1 against neighboring Elba. The 2A Tigers
showed Bobcat fans why the school is a preseason favorite to win the 2A
State Title. The Bobcats had their chances in the game after
scoring to start the fourth quarter cutting the lead to 6-12.
Critical mistakes proved
costly for Opp throughout the game, but almost challenged Elba,
but a fourth down conversion failed leading to the Tigers final
score of the game with 1:15 remaining.
Opp faces another tough
challenge in preseason region favorite Daleville. The
Warhawks are 1-0 after a win over 4A Bullock County, however Opp
receives higher quality points in their loss to Elba and will be
higher ranked in computer polls.
