THE RECORDS

Red Level 6 - Georgiana 6
Led by Lee (who scored), H. Spivey and J.B.McLain, Red Level rolled up 254 yards to Georgiana's 94.  The Tigers had 16 first downs to the Panthers 4.  Georgiana scored on a Tiger fumble in the end zone.

Red Level 63 - Highland Home 0
Red Level's first team scored 35 points in the 1st quarter and turned things over to the reserves who continued the good work.  Tigers outstanding runner was Winston Foshee, Reserve halfback.
Highland Home, coached by Sherrill Busby, was 0-2 coming into the game and finished the season - unofficially - 0-6.   The Tigers moved to their first win of the season at 1-0-1

Red Level 48 - McKenzie 6
Another Tiger runaway as George and Carrol Chesser were outstanding on defense and Jimmy Lee made several long touchdown runs.    The Tigers had experienced a loss to McKenzie the previous season in coach Stough's debut season.  Both teams came into the game with a win and tie each.  McKenzie finished the season  3-3-1.

Red Level 41 - Andalusia 0
Red Level whipped Andalusia for the first time in 31 years as Harold Spivey scored 40 and 80 yard touchdowns and J.B. McLain and Jimmy Lee ran wild.  Ends F. McLelland and J. Mitchell played well.
The Bulldogs held a dominate winning streak over the Tigers and were 2-2 coming into the game after a loss to Charles Henderson the previous week.  Red Level was the only team to shut out Andalusia in 1957.

Red Level 61 - Brantley 0

With J.B. McLaining for 150 yards the Tigers got it rolling with Coxwell, Odom and B. Sellers paying their best games.   Jerry Sellers' blocking was excellent.  The varsity played less than half the game.
The Bulldogs had not reached the power program they currently are today and finished the season 0-6-1.

Red Level 68 - Excel 0
Jimmy opening minutes 80 yard run was a preview of things to come.  He made several other long runs,  As did, H. Spivey, George and Carrol Chesser led Tigers' outstanding line play.
Excel had a tough start falling 0-2 before gaining two ties to move to 0-2-2 and then picked up a big win heading into the Red Level contest.  The Tigers rolled to their second straight game scoring 60 points.

Red Level 68 - Beatrice 6
Lee, Spivey, JB McLain and company scored at will again..  Billy Odom was outstanding player on defense, along with Vernell Berry and Maxwell McLelland for high flying tigers.

Red Level 62, Dozier 7
Previously unbeaten Dozier was no match for the Tigers, who scored in 60's for 4th straight game.  J. Lee and J. Sellers were stars, along with the Chesser boys, Odom, Berry and B. Sellers.
Gene Elmore entered his first coach of the Dozier Tigers and the team was rolling through opponents with ease.  Defeating Lyeffion 66-0 two weeks prior the game was being touted as undefeated warriors.  It was Dozier's last game of the season, but Red Level would overpower and win 62-7.  Dozier's star player was Mal Moore, who went on to star at the University of Alabama.

Red Level 52 - Goshen 0
The Tigers with Auburn's Coach Shug Jordan Looking on - showed a powerful defense, holding Goshen to minus yardage....  Lee, McClain, and Spivey were the offensive leaders as Tigers rolled toward record 522 points..

Red Level 53 - Florala 0
Played in a sea of mud this game was no problem for Red Level as they piled up points.  Spivey made 46, 42, 12, and 6 yard touchdowns and got Birmingham Post Herald star of week award.  J. Sellers, J.B. McLain, Lee, F. McLelland, and Mitchell also starred.
