Class 6A

 

Prattville lost their second game of the season and now drop out of the Top 10 for the first time.  Hoover continues their dominance in 6A and look like the season's favorite for the Super 6 title game - although region 6's Vestavia Hills could be a road block for the Bucs.  Central-PC moved into the program23 poll last week and responded with a win over ASWA #10 Enterprise, 42-12.  Daphne (4-0; 3-0) moves into the program23.com poll for the first time this season.

Class 5A

 

Last week it looked like region 4 McAdory and region 1 St. Paul's were headed for 5A South Showdown, but a week later and both teams are now stunned and looking for answers after last Friday region upsets.  appear to be headed for a playoff showdown.  St. Paul's (3-1; 2-1) lost to LeFlore (3-1; 3-0), while McAdory lost to Hueytown (who fell out of Top 10 last week) and both teams are in second place behind Pleasant Grove (4-0; 3-0).  PG is the only undefeated team in the South regions.

 

Briarwood Christian moved into the Top sport this week and jumped over last year's runner-up who remains at #2.  Russellveill and #7 Muscle Shoals have a Region 6 showdown in second half of 2010.  Demopolis (defending champion) continues their surge and returns into the Top five after the opening season loss to #1 Briarwood, 23-13.

CLASS 4A

 

Region 1's Jackson vs. UMS-Wright contest turned one sided and now Jackson holds an advantage over Thomasville.  Region 2 gets closer with second half battles for three undefeated teams.  The region could go unclaimed and undecided until week 9's Straughn vs. Ashford matchup. 

Andalusia joins the two in a three-week battle for the top spot in the region beginning week 7.  

 North Jackson continues to lead the North, however, St. Clair County has outscored opponents 150-58 and leads region 6 along with Anniston (3-1; 3-0)

CLASS 3A

 

Clay Co dropped out of the Top 10 after back to back loses to #1 Leeds and #4 Handley - as those two tie up during the second half of region play.   Pike County defeated Abbeville dropping them out of the Top 10 allowing two new teams to come into the polls this week. 

 

Bayside Academy stayed at #5 and every week in the poll is another mark for the school with their highest in the private school history.
