Week 6 - Region
Red Level (2-3; 2-1) vs. Samson (4-1; 2-1)
Red Level host one of the hottest
teams in region 2 when the Samson Tigers invade Bobby Dye stadium this
Friday Night. The game could decide the third place team and
who would likely face the second team from region 1 during the playoffs.
The loser would be battling for the fourth seed and a first round match
against likely 2A #2 Leroy.
Samson has surprised everyone
in the region with their 4-1 start as the Tigers only loss to 2A
#1 Elba. Red Level faces Elba in week 9, but has lost to
likely #2 seed out of region 2 Goshen.
The two teams have both faced
Pleasant Home, but Red Level's battle was in the preseason
kickoff matches that featured both JV and varsity players.
Pleasant Home battled Samson to a 12-14 loss last Friday in off
season week, while Red Level fell to McKenzie.
Red Level has lost two
non-region contest to two of the toughest teams in 1A - Brantley
and McKenzie. Those two losses have more power rank
than Samson's wins over off season 1A Florala and Pleasant Home.
Samson and Red Level could
very well change their two schedule heading into the final five
games. Red Level could go 4-1 over the final four contest
and be the third team. Best case and upset over #1 Elba
and the #1 seed. Otherwise it is a solid third place
finish.
